Description
Acer oliverianum – This deciduous tree from Central and eastern China and Taiwan is a small tree or large shrub that grows 12-25’ feet tall with a graceful spreading crown up to 30’ feet wide. It has mid green leaves similar to Acer palmatum but slightly larger up to 5 inches long and more finely toothed with 5 radiating lobes. The winged fruits are an inch-by-inch and angled pairs. Young shoots are purplish green. Bears pale yellow flowers. In autumn turns yellow orange or deep bronze.
