Description
Acer circinatum – Vine Maple – This deciduous small shrub or low branching tree derives from Northwestern America, grows 15’ feet tall and 20’ feet wide. The 7-9 green lobed 5 inches long leaves turn brilliant orange- scarlet to deeper red in autumn. Bears pendent leaf stalks of small purple and white flowers.
Grows well in cooler temperature areas with adequate rainfall in fertile soil but well drained in sun or partial shade. For better fall color plant in acidic or neutral soil.
