Description
Angulocaste
This cross between Anguloa and Lycate is a deciduous orchid. It produces conical pseudobulbs and broadly lance shaped soft folded leaves to 24” or more long. Cultivated for their large solitary tulip like flower borne in early summer.
Cool to intermediate growing orchids (see chart below). In spring and summer water freely and apply a half strength liquid fertilizer every third watering. In autumn when pseudobulbs are fully formed reduce watering and temperature and remove shading. Keep dry after leaves have died and continue watering when new growth develops. Do not spray or mist. Divide when plant over grows container.
Prone to spider mites, aphids, and mealy bugs.
