Description

L. dentata – L. clivorum – Senecio clivorum – Golden Groundsel– This clump forming perennial from China and Japan grows 3-5′ feet tall and 3′ feet wide. It produces leathery, kidney shaped to rounded, toothed, mid green leaves, to 12″ long, deeply heart shaped at the bases, the basal leaves have red leaf stalks. From summer to early autumn it bears flat corymbs of many red stalked, brown centered, orange-yellow flowers, to 4″ across.

Grow in moderately fertile, deep, reliably moist soil, in full sun with some midday shade. Shelter from strong winds and stake. Divide in spring.
