Description
R. x odorata ‘Viridiflora’ – R. chinensis ‘Viridiflora’ – R. ‘Lu E’ – R. ‘Viridiflora’ – Green rose – This shrubby or climbing China rose is a cross between R. chinensis and R. gigantea and grows 30″ inches tall and 24″ inches wide. From prickly canes, it carries dark green leaves consisting of 3-5 narrowly ovate leaflets, up to 2 ½” long. From summer to autumn, it bears rosette shaped, double, flowers that are 2″ across and are green aging to purplish green, held in sprays.
