Description
Acer heldreichii trautvetteri – Greek Maple – Red Bud Maple – Heldreich’s Maple – Native to the Caucasus and northern Turkey, it is a very attractive deciduous tree growing 60’ feet tall and 50’ feet wide. Handsome because of its sculpted 3 lobed dark green leaves which have 5 deep lobes 4-6” inches long. The leaves open from red buds then turn yellow sometimes red in autumn. The 1-2 inch winged fruits are distinctly downward curved.
