Description
Acer miyabi – This deciduous tree native to Japan has a broadly columnar habit that grows 40’ feet tall and wide. The bark is gray brown and corky with orange brown fissures. The rich green leaves are 4-6” long with deep 3-5 lobes and are sharply toothed edges. Flowers of yellow and hang in clusters on a singly or common shared stem. In autumn the leaves turn yellow.
‘Morton’ is an attractive cultivar.
