Description
Acer mono – Acer cappadocium var. mono – Acer pictum – Painted Maple – Native to Japan, China, Manchuria and Korea this deciduous tree can grow 40’ feet tall and in breadth in a rounded dome habit. But can also shrub like. Leaves vary in size but has bright green 5-7 pointed lobes. Bears greenish yellow umbels of flowers. The leaves turn yellow in autumn. Variegated cultivars are prone to regression to their green color so heavy pruning may be needed.
