L. stenocephala – This clump forming perennial from Northern China, Taiwan and Japan grows 5′ feet tall and 3′ feet wide. It produces triangular, pointed, toothed leaves, to 14″ long, with heart shaped bases. In early and late summer, tall, slender racemes of numerous yellow flowers, to 1 ½” across, with orange-yellow centers, are held on black-green stems.
perennial – Grow in moderately fertile, deep, reliably moist soil, in full sun with some midday shade. Shelter from strong winds and stake. Divide in spring.
