Description
M. ‘Jane’ – This upright, deciduous shrub is a cross between M. liliiflora ‘Reflorescens’ and M. stellata ‘Water Lily’ and grows 12′ feet tall and 10′ feet wide.It produces ovate, glossy, mid green leaves, to 6″ long.In late spring it bears cup shaped, very fragrant flowers, to 4″ across, with 10 petals, red purple outsides and white insides, open from slender, erect, red-purple buds.
Grow in moist, well drained, humus rich, preferably acidic to neutral soil in sun or partial shade.Protect from strong and salty winds.
