M. alpestris – M. rupicola – Alpine Forget-me-not– This short lived, clump forming perennial from Europe grows 4-8″ tall and 4-6″ wide, and usually grown as an annual or biennial. It produces oblong-lance shaped or spoon shaped, bright green leaves, to 3″ long. From late spring to early summer it bears dense cymes of dainty, salverform, bright blue, creamy-yellow eyed flowers, to 3/8″ across.
Grow in moderately fertile to poor,
moist but well drained soil in full sun, with some midday shade, or in partial
shade.
