Description

Acer japonicum – Full-Moon Maple – Native to the forest of Japan this slow growing deciduous tree grows 30’ feet tall and wide. The leaves are very pale green when unfolding to a 7-11 lobe sharply toothed turning mid-green in summer and are 6-8” inches long. In autumn the breath taking shades are orange and red while others hold their mid-green color. Intolerant to drying winds, like moist sheltered position.
‘Aconitifolium – ‘Flicifolium’ – ‘Laciniatum’ – with ferny deeply dissected and toothed leaves. It grows 15’ feet tall and 20’ feet wide and is very free flowering turning crimson in autumn.
