P. grandidentata – Bigtooth Aspen – This spreading, deciduous tree from Eastern North America grows 70′ feet tall and 40′ feet wide.From gray hairy young shoots it carries ovate, gray woolly young leaves, to 5″ long, dark green when mature and pale green beneath.Young leaves have wavy edges while mature leaves edges are toothed.In early spring it bears red male catkins, to 2 ½” long, or green females, to 4″ long.

Tolerant of any, except constantly
waterlogged soil, although best in deep, fertile, moist, but well drained soil
in full sun.
