Description
Rosa banksiae ‘Lutea’ – Rosa banksiae var. lutea – Yellow banksian rose – grows – R. banksiae var. alba – R. banksiae ‘Alba Plena’ -This near evergreen climbing species rose from Western and Central China grows 12-20′ feet tall and wide. From thornless stems it carries small, light pointed dark green leaves composed of 3-7 leathery oblong-lance-shaped to elliptic-ovate leaflets, up to 2 ½” long. In late spring cascading clusters of 3-7 of rosette shaped, fully double, sweetly scented primrose-yellow flowers, that are 3/4″ across, with notched petals followed dull red hips. Protect from frost for best result.
