Description
Acer caudatum – This maple is both found as a slender tree to 40’ feet tall or as a spreading shrub to 20’ feet tall. Derives from Korea, Japan and nearby parts of China. The leaves have 5-7 triangular lobes, which 6″ long with coarsely serrated edges and dense yellow bristles on the undersides. Has pounced fissured dark brown bark. The winged fruits are 1 ½” long and are clusters about 4 inches long.
